Little girls are just perfect-

I had the honor of taking pictures of my best friends little girl….Miss Mya Landrie.

And can I just say…she is a PERFECT PRINCESS. No really….she’s an absolute doll. I cannot put into words how precious she is…and just BEAUTFIUL!!!!

I just had to share a few of the pictures. I’m not sure if it’s because I’m used to taking pictures of Jaxon…aka TAZ / WILDMAN who is NEVER STILL…or if she’s just soooooo SWEET and PERFECT that she’s already a precious little SUPER MODEL.

Whatever it was…it was an easy…enjoyable shoot…well besides the MONSTROUS MOSQUITOS…..

and I’m OH SO PROUD of how great the pictures turned out!!!

P.S. I’m super stoked too…my BFF and I have business plans that are T-TOTALLY rockin’!!! {{As if we aren’t already big enough JACK-OF-ALL-TRADE girls as it is!!!}}

ENJOY THE PICS OF THE PRINCESS!!!!

Halloween Banner

Soooo….as promised here are better pictures of my little Halloween banner!!!
Pumpkin Patch 10-10-10 681
It was super-duper easy!
To make one for yourself you will need:
-Scrapbook paper (or any paper will do!)
-Glue
-Twine
-Hole punch & scissors

I started by printing letters out to spell “Happy Halloween.”
10-01-2010 008
Then I looked around my house for something that had a LARGER circle shape for the background paper. I found this little doo-dah.
10-01-2010 011
I took the lid and traced larger circles on my paper.
10-01-2010 013
Remember my brown paper bag recycling?? Here it is again! It’s perfect for brown craft paper!
 10-01-2010 015
I then glued the letter circles with the larger circles. Once they were dry, I used a hole-punch to make to holes at the top of the letter circle. Like this!
10-01-2010 021
I pulled out my handy-dandy twine to string the letters. I made two separate banners….one for “Happy” and another for “Halloween.”
I seriously love this! And even better…it was free! You could use anything you have around the house to make yours!!

{Sticker Love}

Happy weekend everyone!! I just wanted to share a few pics of my munchkin and his sticker fun! I bought him a notebook, scented markers and stickers at the {Dollar Tree} last week and he is SMITTEN!
He LOVES stickers. In fact, it’s probably the ONLY time during the day that he will SIT STILL! I bought them to make an activity pack to take with us when we run errands, go out to eat…you know just in case when he has and outbreak of ANTS IN HIS PANTS in public!!
Turns out he loves them at home too! We had to make an at-home sticker pack!!
10-09-2010 015
10-09-2010 013
I just {love} when I can see the little wheels in his mind turning…he’s 100% focused. Love it.
10-09-2010 007
And because he sees his Mamma working on crafts and artwork at the {craft table} he thinks that HE MUST sit there also! It’s really funny.
10-09-2010 016
10-09-2010 023
And as with anything….stickers show up in all kinds of places!! He wore this one for quite awhile until he remembered it was up there!!
10-09-2010 027
And I just had to share this one too…sometimes he eats his crayons and markers. Lord help me…I try to monitor this..but he’s sneaky little stinker-pot!10-09-2010 006
Hysterical right!! Oh how I love this little boy!!! Rainbow poopies and all!!!
We are off to the pumpkin patch today to take pictures with Jax’s cousins! I am SUPER excited…it’s going to be a BLAST! Last year Jax could barely sit up by himself…I’m sure I’ll be chasing him today…and I really {crossing my fingers} hope he doesn’t chunk any pumpkins or damage anything! Well…not too bad anyways!!! Boys!!!
((HUGS)) and happy weekend!

Read for the Record!!!

Have you heard???
“Jumpstart’s Read for the Record©, presented in partnership with Pearson, is Jumpstart’s world record breaking campaign that brings children and adults together to read the same book, on the same day, in homes and communities all over the world. The campaign also kicks off Jumpstart’s yearlong program, preparing preschool children in low-income neighborhoods for success in school and life.”

Unexpected wall decor….

Last week…or was it the week before that?? Oh cinders & ashes…I can’t remember when…but RECENTLY I made a few crafties with left-over scrapbook paper. Turns out…paper can be cute wall decor!! I made these  pinwheel accordion-thingies and hung them on the wall in my kitchen. They take 5 minutes to make…maybe less!
10-05-10 009
10-03-2010 071
They are actually pretty big. See how they look on my wall!
10-03-2010 065m \
And keepin’ it real….a pic with my water cooler thinga-ma-bob.
10-03-2010 066m
Funny stuff right!! They are pretty cute!!
I did not take pictures of the process but they are super easy to make!
-Cut 3 strips of paper about 2- to 3-inches in width. Cut one round circle from paper about 2-inches in diameter.
-Fold each strip accordion-style. Hot glue the ends of 2 strips together, then connect all three to make a circle. It will be a little wonky.
-Squirt a dab of hot glue on the center of the paper circle and place the accordion circle on the glue. You will have to press the accordion paper down to make the circle even. The glue will anchor the accordion strips down and VIOLA…groovy paper decorations!
-For large accordion circles, you can omit the paper circle gluing. The larger paper seems to hold it’s shape better! ** I used big strips of paper for my wall decorations – like 6 to 8 inches or larger strips of paper.
I may post a tutorial…because I’m a visual kind of girl…and those steps may be confusing!!
I also made a groovy banner…and just as soon as I can get a GOOD picture of it I will post that as well too!!
Here’s a teaser:

And I must add a little note! I’m starting one of my first official “graphic design/web design” job/projects for a client this week! YAY! So much fun! I’m super stoked!!
Happy happy day!

Toddler activity: Painting with a Brush

You all know that Jaxon and I love art time!! We recently tried painting with a brush and Jaxon absolutely loved it!! I wasn’t sure how he would react to the colored water…I actually thought there was potential he would want to tip over the glasses. BUT…he did MARVELOUS! He’s such a little smart-britches!!
10-05-10 010
10-05-10 012
He was sooooo into it!
10-05-10 013
Can’t you just see how focused he is???

To enjoy this activity with your wittle-one you will need:
*Food coloring
*Water
*Glasses or cups
*Paint brush (I used an old one)
*Paper
Fill a few glasses/cups with water, add a few drops of food coloring…and voila! Water colors!! Give your sweet-pea the brush and let them go-to-town!!!
We will be adding this to our weekly art lessons for sure!!

ENJOY!
