Blissful Garage Sale Saturdays…

I spent my morning rummaging at garage sales with a sweet friend and her precious Mamma. It was absolutely MARVELOUS!

Not to make you drool or anything…but check out some of the goodies I scored!

Studying…

I’ve been out of blog world most of this week….and I look a lot like this…..well except there would be Jax jumping up and down in my chair or on my head or something crazy like that.

This totally cracked me up!! It’s so true!! My desk very much looks like that right now…including the Red Bull.

I’m in the last week of Summer 1 so please be patient with me while I wrap this semester up. Summer grad school…is stomping me! But I will WIN! =)

Summer Solstice…

Yesterday was officially Summer Solstice…the first day of Summer and the longest day of the year. Did you do anything fantastic to celebrate?

We sure did! My sweet Mamma drove three hours to spend a few days with us so we spent the evening hiking. Splendid sunshine + mountain air = pure BLISS!

Nothing makes me happier than when Jaxon get’s to be outisde…exploring…hiking…and just being a sweet little boy! And it’s clear to see….he’s a little mountain goat!

Look at this SWEET HEART cactus! I LOVE IT!!

After I shot these, Jaxon wanted to take a picture of almost every cactus, saying “Mamma they have HEART LEAVES too!” Too sweet!

Can you tell he was excited to hike with his Granny?

I’m actually really proud of him. He could hike, and hike, and hike forever. He never gets tired, wears out or whines and has to be carried. He loooooooves it!

Have I mentioned how much I love living in Alpine lately?

Goodness are we ever BLESSED!!

We have lot’s of fun planned with Granny this week. Junkin’, sunrise and sunset hiking, crafties, coffee bean roasting and just all kinds of great FUN! Can’t wait to share it with you all!

Happy Marketing Monday!

Hope you all had a WONDERFUL weekend! I sure did! It flew by…and now here we are rockin’ Monday. Goodness!

Jax had these too-cute star candies that I thought were picture-perfect. The colors make me HAPPY! =)

I’m so craving a free moment to do something crafty. But, alas, I’m about 4-feet under a pile of work, homework and unpacking to do. Maybe in a few months? LOL!

My clients and myself included, always get a tad thirsty during photo sessions. I always have bottled water ready for everyone, but wanted to make labels with my logo. This would be CUTE enough!! I have deco duct tape too! Quick, cute, custom refreshment for your customers!

Marketing Monday

Happy Monday everyone!

Doesn’t Marketing Monday sound great? It has a ring to it! I think we will designate the remaining Mondays of this Summer for all things marketing for small businesses. And right now is the perfect time to start this series! I’ve just relocated my entire life and business to a new town and will be hitting the marketing road hard in the next few weeks to get my name out in the community. If you have any suggestions…I’m all ears! Let me know what has worked for you!

If you don’t use Facebook for marketing, you need to login and get over there now. It is a key marketing tool to not only share and promote your work, but to also interact with your clients.

And…I just found out that like scheduling a blog post…you can schedule a Facebook post. REALLY! How marvelous! There are times I just don’t have to Facebook, blog, tweet and everything else in social networking. I honestly have my Facebook to automatically update as tweets, because I can’t manage both. LOL! And if school is crazy,  or if life is crazy busy pants, then I blog ahead of time. It helps add a few more minutes of work time for me, Jax time or even school time.

And now…I can pre-post Facebook posts.  I’m sooooo excited!

I don’t know about you…but this just changed everything for me! I have four FB pages. Insane right? I have my personal page, my photography co. page, my blog page and now my art studio page. This will be life changing for me! If there’s a way to merge pages yet reach specific audiences..then I’ll pass out! LOL! Until then…pre-posting sounds pretty stinkin’ fantastic!

If I lived by the beach…

I live nowhere near a beach.

Much less a large body of water.

Don’t get me wrong. I love my gorgeous West Texas desert.

But if I lived by a beach…I’d so drive a truck like this… and haul my super cool surfboards around.

They wouldn’t be my surfboards of course. I don’t swim out in water I can't see the bottom of. And well…I get sea sick too. I went deep sea fishing ions ago in Cabo San Lucas. Worst. Experience. Ever. Sea sick + worst sunburn of my life! Uggh!

But I’ll sit on the beach just any old day….with a good book and lot’s of sunshine.

Cuteness…

So not only do I have an entirely new house to decorate…but I have a new studio to decorate too!! I want it to be totally vintage, gypsy, shabby-chic and just YUMMY!
I so might do one of the walls like this…serious CUTENES! And deliciously frugal to boot!!

Sunday inspiration…

Sometimes patience is a good thing…

Do you ever make the most detailed plans…only to have them blown to smithereens by the unexpected? Story. of. my. life.

Turns out sometimes taking time to enjoy the moment of the detour in the plans can be quite wonderful. If this week had gone according to my plans…I may not have all these babies to take home to my new house.

My Mom let me raid her jar collection at the farm. I’m tickled pink! I’ve been wanting jars to use as drinking glasses for all the cute drinks I’ve been pinning on Pinterest.

And with all my new cabinets and cute storage in the new casa…the big ones will be PEFECT!

I grabbed two of my Dad’s vintage milk jars…shhhhhh…don’t tell him. He had like 12…I thought he could surely spare 2 for me!!!
