Nature photography

One thing that I absolutely love is nature photography.
I love little glimpses of the beauty and God's work in nature.
I usually always forget to share a few of my shots with you, but starting today I want to share these with you.

I loved this little yellow flower. We were hiking at the Guadualupe Mountain National Park in a very wooded area. In one teeny, little spot where the sun shone through...this little flower was growing. Magnificent!! I think the saying "bloom where you are planted" rings so true after seeing this!!

I hope you will grab your camera and go outside today or this weekend and have fun shooting nature. No rules, not expectations. Just capture the moment.
Happy shooting!!!

Happy Halloween!!♥

Whooo hooooo! We are still ALIVE! Jax and I made it through the flu-cold-junkorama sickness of the past week. Goodness! I have not been that sick since I taught school! You know teachers – you always get the WORST colds and FLU! Or at least I always did…even despite my GALLON SIZE GERM-X bottle and LYSOLING everyone’s desks all the time. LOL.

We are doing MUCH bettah!!! Well we still cough like a lung might come loose…but goodness…I can handle a COUGH!

We had a SUPER BUSY weekend and had SUCH a GREAT time!!! I had some AH-mazing photo sessions. I get so emotional just talking about them…and looking at them. God continues to bless me beyond all imagination. I am just in awe!!!

Here’s a few teasers from the weekend:

I have LOT’S more to share with you this week! Jax and I did a FUN painting PROJECT! And I’m on a MISSION to get my little CASA back in order after a LONG semester of graduate school and WORK. Uughh! I thought I would BLOG it so I would be DEDICATED to finishing it! I also want to chat about Mamma Weight Loss ideas this week too! Goodness…what else can we throw in the pot to chit chat about! LOL!!!

And speaking of chit-chatting. I pretty much have the BEST friends in my blog readers. I can’t even begin to express how GRATEFUL I am for all of you who commented and emailed me while Jax and I were sick last week. To me – that is what blogging is all about. The sweet friends from all over the world that you bond with and support on our journeys! Love y’all and THANK YOU so MUCH!!!

It’s a BIG week…and weekend!

Hi everyone!! It’s Tuesday with a BANG in our neck of the woods.
This week…I can only look at my To-Do list…for the day…and not for the week. Because if I look at the whole thing…I’m certain I cannot finish it all.
So it’s baby steps…one day at a time. LOL.

This week I am working on all my regular work for Demand Studios, my photography business stuff, of course working on my never-ending list of homework for school…and I am also preparing to go back to Alpine this weekend. I am so super excited about this weekend…when I think about it…my heart skips a few beats and FLUTTERS!

As you know I’ll be attending the Shooting West Texas Symposium…featuring some phenomenal photographers. Major TALENT from ALL OVER Texas.
Here’s just an example of who I will be listening to:

T.J. Tucker, Creative Director, Texas Monthly magazine –

Wyman Meinzer was named the official Texas State Photographer in 1997 by then Governor George W. Bush and the 75th Legislature. Internationally acclaimed as an author and photographer, his work has graced the covers of more than 250 magazines and books. He has published over 20 photography books with subjects ranging from Texas landscapes to playas, rivers, quail, working dogs, sky, and more.

Crystal Allbright – photographer and artist

Crystal Allbright comes from Terlingua. She began photography with a Kodak Instamatic and kept a camera handy as she studied art and music at Austin College, a liberal arts school in Sherman, Texas. After employment as a photographer’s assistant and serving on the board of Allen Street Gallery in Dallas, she moved to West Texas in 1990 and continued her studies at Sul Ross State University, fortunate to work under Barbara Richerson. Allbright reluctantly moved from black and white film to digital color file, but has not used an SLR in years, preferring the mobility and spontaneity of smaller cameras while hiking, mountain biking and river running in the Big Bend. Her photographs have adorned the Big Bend Gazette, the Cenizo Journal, 2005-2008 Big Bend Texas Mountains Travel Guide, Mountain Bike Action, IMBA (International Mountain Bicycling Association) Newsletter, and Velo News among others.
