To do your own SHAPED SPONGE PAINTINGS you will need:
○ Sponges
○ Scissors
○ Paint
○ Paper

I used plain-Jane Dollar Tree sponges…
painting 025
and used scissors to cut them into shapes…

Jaxon has to touch everything…and approve of the process.

He could not wait to get started on his project….
painting 026

Surprisingly the sponges are SUPER easy to cut!

I made a square, a rectangle, a heart…and an EGG for Easter.☺

As soon as the sponges were ready…Jax dunked them in and started his painting.

He painted and painted with the sponges.

I get such a kick out of watching him when he’s in his zone.
He switched out the different shapes on his own…but he really wasn’t into using the sponges as stamp to make the actual shapes. And it was his painting…so I let him do his thing!☺

He also had to do a little FINGERPAINTING too.

Wednesday Toddler Activities: Chocolate Sprinkle Birthday Marshmallow Pops

**Sorry for the delay in this post. We had a LARGE time yesterday for Jaxon’s birthday…and didn’t fit in time to finish this little posty!
***********************************************
My goodness gracious.
Today is Jaxon’s 2nd birthday.
That’s right.
My little boy…is officially 2.
I will no longer have to say “Oh he’s 18 months old…20 months old”…and so on.
He’s a BIG BOY number now.
2
That’s crazy!
In celebration of his BIG DAY we made cute party favors as our craft for today!
They were cheap…cute…and easy!
Jaxon LOVED them!
They were a little messy…I was barefoot…and had a few rainbow sprinkles stuck to my toes when it was all said and done.
But we had FUN!
b

To make your own Chocolate Sprinkle Birthday Marshmallow Pops you will need:
*1 cup or more of chocolate chips
*1 bag of marshmallows
*1 bag of lollipop sticks
*Sprinkles of your choice

I poured my chocolate chips into a medium glass  bowl and microwaved them for 30 seconds. I took out the bowl, stirred the chips, and put the bowl back in the microwave to cook for another 30 seconds. After they were done, I stirred the chips until they all melted into a smooth, gooey texture.

I poked marshmallows with lollipop sticks and laid them on a paper plate.

I also poured a lot of SPRINKLIES into a bowl.

Then…the fun began!
I set everything out for Jax…and showed him how to first, dip the marshmallow in the chocolate…..
bday treats 2536
Then the sprinkles….

He LOVED this.
He loved taste tasting everything…even better!
bday treats 2561
He was so excited to get so much sugar all at once…which doesn’t happen often at our house! LOL!
We made a few…..and
bday treats 2564
Tasted a few….
bday treats 2552
until they were all done!
bday treats 2565
I poked them into a floral foam ball I hot-glued to a little bowl.
bday treats 2575
I decorated the foam base with tulle and a few party favors. It would have been MUCH SMARTER to decorate the base BEFORE poking all the treats in. I’m just sayin’….you might learn from my mistake!
bday treats 2592
I LOVE all the colors!
The reason I chose these SPRINKLIES is because they are Jaxon’s favorite. You could use any type and color that you choose!

What a SUPER centerpiece decoration!
They were a BIG hit at his little party too! Everyone loved them!
Hope you try them! They are SO FUN…and YUMMO! I don’t even like marshmallows…but these are REALLY GOOD!
On a slightly different note, I’ve seen in blog-land that many bloggers are doing a day of silence on Friday in honor of the victims of the Japan earthquake tragedy.
I will be participating in the day of silence as well…keeping them in my prayers and sending them love and positive thoughts for healing and recovery.

Hope you all have a MARVELOUS rest of the week!
Much LOVE and BLESSINGS!

Wednesday Toddler Activities: St. Patrick’s Day Rainbow Printable

Wheeeeeeew Nelly. This week. is. ugggghhhh.
The dirt/sand will not stop blowing in our corner of Texas. And it really makes me have a slightly bad mood. I dislike it very MUCH! Lol!
It makes tooter in a bad mood too…see….
Ohhhh toddler fits and dusty skies. Funtimes.
Anywho!!
We did make a little craftie last week that Jaxon liked!! It was SUPER easy. I printed it…put it in a frame…and viola..crafty MADE!
Isn’t it CAAUTE??? I especially like my little “hand” model.
Jaxon really liked the colors…I think at first he thought the buttons were real.
He was able to tell me where the RED and BLUE buttons were. We are slowly building our color recognition! What a cute way to study COLORS!
After looking at all the colors, we finally found it a “home” in the kitchen window. It’s cheery and bright!
Yay!!
**The printable is from the FABULOUS Funky Polkadot Giraffe and can be found by clicking HERE! **

Have a SUPER-DUPER day!!

Wednesday Toddler Activities–Recycled St. Patrick’s Day Shamrock Garland

Howdy doooody! We have been crafting up some really cute-groovy-fun stuff for you around here in Easie Peasie land!!
I’m super excited to share with you a very fun tutorial today for making your very own cutie-patoooootie

♣ St. Patrick’s Day RECYCLED Shamrock Garland ♣

To get started you will need:
♣Old magazines
♣Scissors
♣Hot glue gun / glue sticks (you could also use regular glue – I like instant results so I use hot glue!☺)
♣White paper
♣Pencil
♣Sharpie
Paint brushes
♣Green paint in various shades
♣Twine
♣♣♣ FYI~this is a lengthy tutorial and crafty process. We worked on this for a few days…a little at a time…until it was finished.

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

R E A D Y??
Here we go!!
To begin…gather up all of your old magazines and start tearing out any pages with shades of green, golds and even browns. We used all kinds of greeniesgoldies…and a few brownies with various textures from plants…food…and anything with our colors.
○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○
Next, cut strips of the pages….from left to right across the page.
g1

Begin making a recycled shamrock by taking one strip…and adding a dab of glue on each end…one end at a time…then pressing each end towards the center of the strip…make sense?? Here’s a pic for a visual…

g2

Take another strip…and cut it in half. Then glue the ends of each strip together…like this…..

g3

Use a dab of glue to secure both loopies together in a heart or “V” shape…like this….

g4

Then glue your “heart” or “V” on top of your loopie….like this….

g5

Then snip an additional piece from a magazine strip and glue it to your shamrock…to make a stem…like this….

g6

TAAA DAAAAA….cute-arrific…recycled…magazine…shamrock…clover…thingies!! LOL!

g7

We also added a few blingy rhinestones to give them little pizzazz. You can add all kinds of cute things to personalize them!

○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○

Once we finished our shamrockies…or well once I finished them LOL…Jaxon and I traced his hands. He had to trace mine too…because it’s more FUN that way!
g8
I went over the tracings with a Sharpie…like this…
g9
And because I WAS NOT tracing hands over and over…I made three copies of this page on my printer/copier.
○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○
We then got our PAINTS out…and began PAINTING our hands. Grab a variety of shades of green.
We even used a metallic teal and a glittery green. PRETTY!!
g11
Jaxon LOOOOVED the painting part of this craftie. By now you know…it’s his FAV!
g10
g12
He even tried to trace his hand with the paint…sweetest little guy…
g13
and here are the masterpieces…drying!
g14

○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○

I wanted to add another element to the garland…so I made little  Lucky♣  letter/circles.
g15
Printed those out….
g16
And started the OH SOOO slow process of cutting everything out…
g18
I cut…and I cut…and I did my editing work…and cut some more…
g19
FINALLY when all the elements were ready…I hot glued them to twine and it was ready to hang.
○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○
H  O  L  Y      C  R A  C K E R S………….
it was REALLY LONG! I had a pickle of a time finding a place for it!!
○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○
Tried it in the front window….
g23
Not loving it…I wanted to be able to REALLY SEE all the cute little elements….
g20
I couldn’t even read the Lucky♣ part…
g22
Soooooooooo….I strung it across my kitchen cabinets…YIPEEEEEEE….and I LOVE IT!
g27
It’s a VERY CHEERY little element for our kitchen…made with LOT’S of LOVE!
g30
g25
I still can’t read the Lucky♣ part perfectly…but that’s okay…I still LOVE it MUCHOS!
g31
g32
g26
It was kind of WONKY to photograph. The darn ceiling fan pull-thing was in the way a lot…and the whole angle is just WONKY! Sorry!!
○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○
I hope you try one with your munchkin. It’s SUPER fun. We had a great time…and I love that it’s recycled fabulous too. Maybe try placing the little doo-dahs closer together and yours won’t be as crazy LOOOONG as mine!
○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○

I also have a little surprise for you too!
Do you want an easy way to print out a set of handprints…or your own Lucky♣ letters? I made copies for you!
