Cute Fall decorations

Happy Monday!

Did you have a GREAT beginning of Fall this weekend?
We sure did.

Jax and I rested, watched cartoons, cleaned a little, went to Mass, took naps..and just enjoyed staying home and relaxing.

Since it is now officially Fall I thought we should celebrate by ooing-and-aaaahing over some cute decorations!!

[[ I included the link below each photo to find out how to make one...or to see more inspiration! ]]

I absolutely adore this book pumpkin. Book pages + modge podge = super cute!!

How cute is this sign?? Find some old wood and jazz it up with paint and you are good to go! I'm so wanting to do this!!

I'm a HUGE sucker for vintage globes. If I could ever bring myself to cut one in half...I would so do this. LOVE IT!

Love, love, love the effect of these white pumpkins. I have a few old, orange ones that could use a face-lift and I'm thinking a coat of white paint might be just the perk they need!!

Love this banner!!

To carve…or not to carve?? Tis the question!!

Are you carving your pumpkins this year?? I always try to do some pumpkin crafty with Jax and this year, I’m totally thinking NO CARVING. It’s a mess…and the insides are kind of stinky. LOL! Plus…I don’t care how much Vaseline you slap on them…they still get funky and wilty. Well mine do anyways. They go from happy faces…to creepy looking faces! Ha ha!!

I’ve been compiling a few ideas I’ve found and am pretty excited to find some cute NON-carving ideas!! Thought I would share just in case any of you are on the fence about carving this year too!
Super cute YARN idea!

Hmmmm….totally love these!

This might not be too hard?? If you can line up the doily right! I probably would SMUDGE it! LOL!

I totally love all the DECORATIVE tapies that are available now. This would be easy! But you would probably have to add some adhesive – I’m just saying…masking tape sometimes POPS up! Maybe modern masking tape sticks better??? LOL!

I really LOVE Meg’s pumpkins and I think we are totally going the PAINT route! Jaxon LOVES to paint and I think he will LOVE doing this!!!! And well…so will MAMMA! LOL! Just look how HAPPY all the color is! LOVE IT!!

Adorable Halloween costumes…

This is Jaxon’s second official Halloween. Last year I dressed him up for a photo shoot on my living room floor and that’s about as much as we did! He was still little bitty!
This year he’s running…so it should be an adventure! I’ve been trying to think of something cute…and something he won’t be uncomfortable in {it’s still hot in Texas in October} or rip off like hats or masks!
I found these precious hats…which would NEVER work for him because he’d rip them off before you could blink…but they are too cute not to SHARE!! To access purchase info please click on title below pictures.

Fall Wreaths….

So let’s keep talking about Fall decorations shall we? I’m definitely going to need to update my door wreath..it’s been a few months and I need new pretties to look at! Here’s my door now…
Moms Camera 061
Remember my tissue paper tutorial found here? It has been holding up great and going strong since April. I’m really shocked it did so well!! But…I’m itching for a new look!!
Here are a few unique ideas that I’m going to choose from…or who knows…I love them all…maybe I’ll make all of them??

You can see why I can’t make up my mind now! Caaaauuuuuuuuute!! Do you ever find so many ideas…that you can’t narrow it down??  I’m soooo there right now!! Love these!!
Awhile back I did try out the {Coffee Filter} wreath…but mine’s way too poofy for my front door…my glass outer door mushes it!! DOH!! But this would definitely also be a great…cheap…cute Fall wreath idea!!
I started with this:
May 20 2010 003
The easiest way I found for gluing the filters to the wreath…with out burning the {shrizzle} out of your fingers with hot glue is to use a pencil like this….
May 20 2010 004
Then just dab a little bit of glue on the tip of the pencil and poke it in the wreath…quickly of course before the glue sets up! Then just keep adding the filters like this….
May 20 2010 009
Just a thought…you could possibly start from the outside…I started from inside.
This is the final outcome:
May 20 2010 020
I love the vintagy color of the natural coffee filters. I added some ribbon and hung it on my old-timey vintage door that leads to my utility room….since it was way too POOFY for my front door!

The cost for this wreath was about 2 to 3 clams. I had the ribbon and glue sticks. That’s pretty fabulous for a wreath!  You could personalize this idea for Fall in soooo many different ways!!
Have fun creating! I’ll post a tutorial of whatever OTHER wreath I decide to make…one that fits my door I hope!!
Have a SUPER Monday!

I’m ready for FALL!!!

I was looking at my calendar for September this morning to organize bills and appointments…and I realized…FALL IS ALMOST HERE!!!
Fall is MY SEASON. I seriously love the Fall. I always have. I love how you can pretty much SMELL fall in the air when the seasons change from summer to fall.
My favorite FALL song (everyone should have SEASON songs b)
Watch The Wind Blow
{Tim McGraw}
Creek goes rippling by
I’ve been barefoot
and all day with my baby
Brown leaves have started falling
Leading the way
I like it best just like this
Doing nothing all the way
So let’s lay down in the tall grass
Dreaming away

And all I wanna do is let it be and be with you
And watch the wind blow by

I love how fall candles smell…spicy..pumpkiny..cozy..smells of warmth and goodness!!
And who doesn’t love  FALL goodies such as popcorn balls…pumpkin pies..and carmel apples!
What I LOVE the mostest and greatest about the FALL is…..FALL HOLIDAYS and FALL DECORATIONS!
I am that person and that girl who thinks about decorating pumpkins in August…and putting out Christmas decorations the day after Halloween! I know…it’s silly!! But oh so fun!!!
Sooooo….in lieu of the upcoming Fall season and holidays…I’ve already began planning my pumpkin decorations. Oh my…can you believe?? Here are a few ideas I’m using for inspiration this year….
