Crazy Cool Art Installation: The Mending Project by Beili Liu

Most of you know I’m a craft and photography LOVA…but you may not know I love art installations. Love love love art museums…galleries…exhibits etc. Love it. I once lived in Marfa, Texas which is now turning into an Art mecca…goodness. It’s the professed home of artist Donald Judd. Don’t know about him…Google! It’s very interesting.

I was lucky to see most all of his original works and installations, as well as visiting artists of the Donald Judd Foundations’ works. I went to college in Alpine, Texas – 20 miles from Marfa, at Sul Ross State University. I adored and loved it so much!! Downtown Alpine hosts Gallery  Night twice a year with all the local galleries and shops open…featuring amazing works and installations. Many places have free wine and food for guests. The entire experience is just amazing. I really miss not living in a community that thrives with art.

If I am traveling, I visit the museums. I love different art. Even crazy art…that doesn’t seem like art. It’s art…and I love if it makes me THINK. Soooo…it’s never occurred to me before…but why not share some of those on my blog! It might be groovy to share some of the stuff that I watch and see in all my art lovin’!!

My most recent discovery is The Mending Project by Beili Liu which was featured at the Women and Their Work gallery in Austin, Texas. It’s dynamic and thought provoking.
